1. AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY – Volunteers needed include a certified cosmetologist to conduct workshops, breast cancer survivors to visit with patients, Resource Center volunteers and a driver to transport cancer patients to and from treatment.
2. AMERICAN RED CROSS - Volunteers are needed for the Disaster Action Team responding to single family & apartment fires; training provided. Disaster Services Volunteers are also needed for disaster planning, preparedness, community disaster education and mitigation.
3. ART HAUS - Volunteers are needed to work with children and assist the Summer Art Teacher at the children’s Summer Art Camp.
4. CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY CENTER - A smiling front desk volunteer is needed to perform receptionist and clerical duties along with some child care in the waiting room.
5. COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP FOR CHILDREN - Volunteer Board members are needed to provide guidance with investments, fundraising, advocacy, grant research, and community outreach efforts. Volunteers with child welfare and social services experience are also needed.
6. DOMESTIC ABUSE COUNCIL*** - Volunteers are needed to take crisis hotline calls at designated times at the emergency shelter; maintenance volunteers for the shelter facility area also needed.
7. FLAGLER HABITAT FOR HUMANITY*** – Volunteer committee members are needed to serve on the Development, Family Selection, & Family Support committees; clerical volunteers are also needed. Construction workers are needed at the build sites.
8. MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION - Volunteers Board members are needed to sit on at least one Board committee and participate in community activities including fundraising.
9. SALVATION ARMY – Volunteers are also needed to fill an afternoon receptionist position.
10. UCP of EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA – A volunteer with CPA/accounting skills is needed to serve on the Board of Directors. Volunteers are also needed for the construction of a covered patio adjacent to the Education Center; ability to use construction tools required.
11. UNITED WAY OF VOLUSIA-FLAGLER COUNTIES – Disaster Initiatives 2-1-1 Call Center, Volunteer Reception Center, Field Observer and Outreach volunteers are also needed to manage information and volunteers in response to local disasters.
12. VIND (Volusia Interfaith/Agencies Networking in Disaster) – Disaster response volunteers are needed to assist disaster victims with clean-ups, muck-outs, and repairs resulting from disaster damage. Volunteers are also needed to give presentations on behalf of their Speaker’s Bureau.
13. VOLUSIA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE*** - A volunteer assistant is needed in the evidence facility in Deland; duties include light physical work and some office assignments as well.
14. VOLUSIA LITERACY COUNCIL*** - Volunteers are needed for the 19th Annual Drive for Literacy Golf Tournament being held on July 25; wear a hat and sunscreen; 4 hour shifts available. Volunteers are needed to fill Board of Director positions to help improve area adult literacy skills.
15. VOLUSIA / FLAGLER FAMILY YMCA - A volunteer is needed to serve on the Flagler YMCA Branch Board.
